PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can simply move a recording head up and down by sliding movement of a carriage, and avoids enlargement and cost increase of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The carriage 38 is equipped with sliding members 86 which support a carriage body 85 by sliding in contact with guide frames 43 and 44, supporting members 96 which support the sliding members 86 to be movable up and down, coil springs 87 which elastically urge the sliding members 86 upwards, and gap adjusting members 88 which are interposed between the sliding members 86 and the supporting members 96 to be movable sliding in a reciprocation direction of the carriage 38 and shift an interval between the sliding member 86 and the supporting member 96 by the sliding position. First contact walls 106 and second contact walls 107 which contact to the gap adjusting members 88 are formed in a region where the carriage 38 reciprocates.
