PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely separate foreign matter from polluted liquid without re-intrusion of the centrifugally separated foreign matter into cleaned liquid. SOLUTION: The foreign matter removal apparatus is provided with a cleaning tank 2 receiving a coolant 4 mixed with contaminants, and a rotation mechanism rotating the cleaning tank 2, and rotates the cleaning tank 2 to centrifugally separate the foreign matter in the coolant 4 to form cleaned liquid. A plurality of serrate recessed parts 24 are formed on the inner periphery 13 of the cleaning tank 2 by a first tilted face 18 tilted downward with a gentle slope toward the rotation direction of the cleaning tank 2, and by a second tilted face 19 raised from a bottom B of the first tilted face 18 with an abrupt slope.
