PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which secures high reactivity with silica and satisfies both of reduction in rolling resistance and improvement of wear resistance of a tire; and to provide the tire using the rubber composition. SOLUTION: In the rubber composition, silica is blended in an amount of 10-200 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of a rubber component containing a modified conjugated diene polymer having at least one functional group in an amount of≥10 mass%, and a sulfur-containing silane compound having a specified structure is blended in an amount of 1-30 mass% based on the amount of silica.
