CHARACTER STRING INPUT DEVICE AND CHARACTER STRING INPUT CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently input a character string.

SOLUTION: This character string input device comprises: a means for displaying a character string when a rotational operator of an operation device is rotationally operated while a list is not displayed; a means for differentiating the display to identify a part in an inputtable state from the other parts by a user's operating the operation device; a means for displaying a character string composed of characters selected and indicated from a character list as an unidentified character string in a text box in accordance with the operation of the operation device; and a means for controlling so as to add a character corresponding to a focused list item to the end of the unidentified character string displayed together with state display being as an unidentified state in the text box and to make the character list undisplayed when an OK operator of the operation device is instructed and operated while the character list is displayed, which solves the above problem.
