PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of certainly fixing roll paper (continuous paper) so as to rotate in a circumferential direction relative to a shaft, but so as not to move in an axial direction, regardless the power of a worker, by a simple operation. SOLUTION: In the roll paper fixing device, roll paper is fitted with a roll paper holding shaft 1 penetrating and supporting the roller paper R, and both ends of the roll paper in the axial direction are regulated by roll paper restraining plates 3, 7 to rotatably support the roll paper. On an outer periphery of the roll paper holding shaft 1, the pair of roll paper restraining plates 3, 7 is disposed. A friction member 5 wound around an outer peripheral surface of the roll paper holding shaft is provided. The roller paper restraining plate is equipped with an external force applying means 8 pressing the friction member in a diameter direction to fix to the roll paper holding shaft 1. By the operation of the external force applying means 8, the roll paper restraining plates 3, 7 can be engaged/disengaged with/from the roll paper holding shaft 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
