The invention relates to a method for optimising the location precision of a device moving in a hollow structure, characterised in that it comprises the following steps: attaching transponders at regular intervals on the outer wall of the hollow structure, each transponder including at least one magnet for attaching it to the wall and/or imparting thereto its personal magnetic imprint; inserting into said hollow structure a device that comprises at least one magnetic sensor capable of detecting and analysing the personal magnetic imprints of said transponders; detecting with a magnetic sensor the magnetic field associated with a transponder; analysing the detected magnetic field and determining the personal magnetic imprint of a transponder; identifying the transponder associated with said magnetic imprint; determining the position of the device based on the position of the identified transponder. |
