<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-seal structure capable of further improving the performance of a fuel battery. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel battery has cells with MEAs 16 sandwiched by a pair of metallic separators 14. A seal member is provided along the periphery of the separator 14 to prevent outflow of gas supplied to the MEA 16. The seal member has hollow elastic bodies 28, 30 for preventing the outflow of the gas supplied to the MEA 16 by adhering to the separator 14. A liquid supplying apparatus 36 makes the thickness of the elastic bodies 28, 30 variable based on an instruction from a control part 38 so as to set a gas-seal pressure as a predetermined reference seal pressure, by varying a liquid volume to be supplied inside the elastic bodies 28, 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
