<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road sign display method and a road sign implement by which drivers of vehicles are urged to positively cooperate with each other for effective suppression and cancellation of traffic congestion in a natural congestion place. <P>SOLUTION: The road sign implement is installed in a position such as a road side wall or the like where the drivers of vehicles can easily watch the device, throughout the section from the front to the end of the congestion place. The implement analyzes the information obtained from a passing-vehicle monitoring device such as a video camera or the like installed throughout the sections for other purpose and displays to the drivers of vehicles who are travelling by the road sign implement an apparent moving speed in blinking arrows as if coinciding with the optimum passing/travelling speed at which the drivers of vehicles are requested to travel that congestion place. The moving speed is displayed on the road sign implement together with character information, motivating and requesting the drivers for cooperation to travel corresponding to the apparent moving speed of the travelling section, thereby allowing the total number of passing vehicles per unit time at the congestion plate to be increased, with the traffic congestion suppressed and canceled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
