PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new evaluating method with an objective validity, which can evaluate about a soil environment in nonuniformity more simply with a burden of a small amount of cost and work, for a corrosion of a metal structure including a metal pipe such as a steel embedded in soil. SOLUTION: A metal test specimen (3) is inserted in the soil (1) from the soil surface near a position where the metal structure (2) is embedded, and, the test specimen (3) is drawn out after an elapse of a prescribed time, and its corrosion rate and macrocell corrosion current are measured, whereby the corrosion of the metal structure (2) in the soil can be evaluated and predicted.
