PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having high efficiency and high durability. SOLUTION: This electroluminescent element is constituted by an anode, a cathode and a layer comprising an organic compound nipped and held between the anode and cathode, wherein the layer comprising the organic compound contains a phosphor material of an Ir complex or a Pt complex containing at least one ligand having a donor-acceptor structure formed by bonding an electron donating (donor property) fluorene skeletone site and an electron-deficient (acceptor property) pyridine, quinoline or isoquinoline skeleton site.
