PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo providing excellent foaming and foam quality at shampooing, further providing excellent touch feeling at rinsing and finishing, and capable of repairing or preventing hair damage and fatigue failure. SOLUTION: The shampoo contains the following components (A), (B) and (C), and water: (A): a sulfate-type surfactant represented by the formula: R<SP>1</SP>-O-(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O)<SB>m</SB>-SO<SB>3</SB>M [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a linear or branched 8-18C alkyl or alkenyl group; m is 0 or a positive integer; M is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or ammonium], and regulated so that the sulfates may be constituted of 30-45 mass% sulfate of m=0, 18-27 mass% sulfate of m=1, 10-20 mass% sulfate of m=2, and the remainder of sulfates of m=3 or more in the whole sulfates, and so that the total of the sulfates of m=0 to 2 may be≥70 mass% of the whole sulfates; (B) an ampholytic surfactant, and (C) a branched fatty acid or a salt thereof, exemplified by the branched fatty acid represented by general formula (2) [wherein, R<SP>2</SP>is a 3-13C branched alkyl group; R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-5C linear or branched alkylene group; p is an integer of 3-36; with the proviso that the case in which R<SP>2</SP>is an iso- or anti-iso-branched alkyl group, and R<SP>3</SP>is a linear alkylene is excluded] or the salt thereof.
