PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of die casting, by which method and apparatus a cast product having a small amount of gas contamination and excellent quality can be achieved by controlling the order of releasing the back pressure in a cavity when a plurality of degassing runners are communicated with the cavity. SOLUTION: The order of releasing the back pressure in the cavity 3 is controlled by detecting the arrival of molten metal to the neighborhood of the connecting portions of the respective degassing runners 10 to 15 with the cavity 3, and by closing the degassing runners 10 to 15 in order from the runners in which the arrival of molten metal has been detected.
