PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ultrasonic vibrator from being damaged by a fall shock when an ultrasonic probe falls. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe is provided with: an ultrasonic vibrator assembly 3 including the ultrasonic vibrator; a probe main body 2 for storing the ultrasonic vibrator assembly 3; a detecting means 8 for detecting that the probe main body 2 is away from an operator's hand; a protection body 9 which is provided for the probe main body 2 and can be moved to a protection position for preventing the ultrasonic vibrator assembly 3 from colliding with a fall surface when the probe main body 2 falls; and a moving means 10 for moving the protection body 9 to the protection position on the basis of the detection result of the detecting means 8.
