The substantially planar food has a farinaceous first surface and second surface with a filling formed therebetween. The edges can be sealed and the exterior surfaces of the food can be grilled. The fully grilled and cooked food can then be reheated in a toaster or toaster oven to provide a high quality sandwich-like product that has the appearance of preparation from fresh ingredients.
