<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location management system capable of precisely controlling a location of a management target such as a tool moving in a plurality of management areas. <P>SOLUTION: The location management system includes a management database 70, which constructs the plurality of management areas wherein a doorway (a gate) is specified in a facility, adds an identification code peculiar to the tool passing through the doorway of each management area, and accumulates necessary information including the identification code related to each target. At the doorway of each management area, tag readers 51, 52 reading the identification code added to the tool, and sending the identification code to the management database 70 are installed.
