<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an MB type of favorable encoding efficiency simply with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector is searched for by use of a current image frame, an inter-frame prediction evaluation value indicating the encoding efficiency is produced based on an inter-frame prediction error and the motion vector weighted based on a quantization parameter (QP), thus raising a search accuracy for the motion vector searched for at a low bit rate, and the motion vector is reflected in producing the evaluation value, thereby determining the MB type of favorable encoding efficiency simply with high accuracy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
