PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for working a steel rod, which apparatus can easily form products having various shapes and sizes. SOLUTION: The apparatus for working the steel rod comprises a steel rod feeding mechanism 10 for feeding the steel rod 1, and a bending mechanism 20 for bending the steel rod 1 fed by the steel rod feeding mechanism 10 into a nearly rectangular shape. The bending mechanism 20 is configured so as to have a fixed portion 22 capable of coming into contact with the outer circumferential portion of the steel rod 1, a movable roll 23 which is arranged to be opposed to the fixed portion 22 across the steel rod 1, and is arranged so as to swivel with respect to the fixed portion 22, and a driving mechanism for bending the steel rod 1 by swivelling the movable roll 23 with respect to the fixed portion 22. Therefore, the bent steel rod 2 formed into flat rectangular shapes with various sizes can be formed from the straight steel rod 1 by adjusting the feed of the steel rod 1 in the steel rod feeding mechanism 10.
