PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the generation of the curling of a film even if the film is longitudinally stretched in a stretch process, while one side of the surface or the back side of the film is heated by a radiant heater. SOLUTION: In the forming method for the stretched thermoplastic resin film, a formed polyester film 18 is longitudinally stretched with one side of the surface or the back side of the film heated by radiant heat from a near infrared heater 30. The radiant heat from the near infrared heater 30 is composed of such a wavelength range that≥20% and≤50% of total heat energy radiated to one side of the polyester film 18 is transmitted from the one side to the other.
