A pneumatic tool comprises a cylinder (2), a piston (3), a driver (4), an air chamber (7), and a main valve (10) for performing opening/closing of the compressed air in the air chamber (7) relative to the cylinder (2). The main valve (10) is disposed on the outer periphery side of the upper end of the cylinder (2). A cylinder housing (15) is provided on the outer periphery of the cylinder (2). An exhaust gas passage (18) having an annular exhaust space is formed along the side portion of the cylinder housing (15). The upper portion of the exhaust gas passage (18) communicates with the upper end of the cylinder (2) at a position between the cylinder (2) and the main valve (10). The lower portion of the exhaust gas passage (18) is connected to the exhaust port (26) of a tool body (1) opening to the outside.
