FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to fibre-optic communications systems and is aimed at transmitting information along single-mode crystalline infrared light waveguides in a wide spectral range. The single-mode crystalline infrared light waveguide comprises a core and a shell, and is based on solid solutions of silver chloride and silver bromide. The core has diameter of 20-110 mcm and with its ingredients in the following ratio, in wt %: silver chloride 19.0-21.0; silver bromide 81.0-79.0. The shell contains the same ingredients at the following ratio, in wt %: silver chloride 25.0-35.0; silver bromide 75.0-65.0. ^ EFFECT: design of light waveguides which work in a wide spectral range (3-30 mcm). ^ 1 dwg |
