A display apparatus and a location recognition method thereof are provided to recognize the location of an external device by using a tag. Tags which are prepared at a display unit(110) have different kinds of identification, and a location information storage(130) stores the location information of each tag. A controller(120) determines the location of an external device by comparing the identification with the location information stored at the location information storage.
