A vibrator on a soil-compacting apparatus has an eccentric mass 3 keyed to a rotary shaft 1 and a second mass 9 movable radially of the shaft against the bias of spring 8 under the action of centrifugal force. Oil in housing 4 damps the movement of the mass 9 and passes through adjustable drilling 11. Spring 8 may be replaced by dish springs, rubber springs or pneumatic springs. |
