A silicon-containing compound, a resin composition containing the compound, and an optical member containing the compound are provided to improve the compatibility with a polymer resin and to enhance the solubility in a solvent. A silicon-containing compound is represented by the formula 1, wherein A is A1 or A2; l, m and n are independently an integer of 0-2 and l+m+n is an integer of 1 or more; Y, G1 and G2 are independently -(CH2)rSiW1W2(CH2)s-, -O-, -NR6-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -(CH2)q-, -CH=CH-, a triple bond of C-C, -C(=O)O(CH2)q-, -OC(=O)(CH2)q-, -(CH2)qC(=O)O-, -(CH2)qOC(=O)-, -C(=O), -C(=O)NR6-, -NR6C(=O)-, -C(=O)S- or -SC(=O); and E is H, F, Cl, Br, I, CN, -NCO, -NCS, -SiW1W2R6, -R6, -N(R6)2, -OR6, -CF3 or -OCF3. |
