EFFICIENT AUTHENTICATION METHOD FOR A RFID SYSTEM HAVING DISTRIBUTED DATABASE AND RFID SYSTEM

An efficient authentication method in an RFID system having a distributed database and the RFID system are provided to reduce an operation quantity in the database by transmitting tag information to corresponding data base by confirming database to which the gateway tag belongs. A first message from a tag and a first hash value for the encryption data are received according to the query of a reader(201). A database of a group to which the tag from the first messages and the hash value belongs by using a previously stored private key corresponding to each database is confirmed. The tag information included in the first message is transmitted to the database(205). The authentication for the tag is performed by the database. If the authentication is succeeded, the second message is transmitted to the tag to perform the authentication for the database in the tag.
