A suction actuated diaphragm 4 controlling a fuel injection pump control rod 7 is moved by a light spring 10 so that the rod 7 contacts a stop 12, determining the starting supply, when the engine is stationary, the full-load position of the diaphragm being determined by a spring-loaded stop 20. At part load the high suction in the intake pipe 15 causes the diaphragm 4 to overcome the loading spring 21 of the stop 20 to move the rod 7 in the decrease fuel direction. At idling the stop 20 contacts a further spring 25. For stopping, the rod 7 is moved to the cut-off position by a lever 29.
