A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating the chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD) is provided to allow it to be applied to the allogenic stem cell transplantation. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating the chronic graft versus host disease contains an anti-CD137 monoclonal antibody as an active ingredient. Preferably the chronic graft versus host disease is caused by the blood transfusion or the transplantation of the marrow. Preferably the transplantation is selected from the group consisting of the marrow transplantation, the stem cell transplantation and the organ transplantation.
