<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high purity hydrogen by the dehydrogenation reaction of naphthene based hydrocarbon. <P>SOLUTION: The production of hydrogen by passing a hydrocarbon through a catalyst layer to cause vapor phase dehydrogenation is carried out under a condition of 270-500°C average temperature of the catalyst layer, ≥95% naphthene content and LHSV (liquid hourly space velocity) of 5-10. By this method, high purity hydrogen is obtained only by one stage and a hydrogen production apparatus is made small-sized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
