A safety sail which provides emergency auxiliary drive for a water craft, whilst also capable of signalling for assistance. The invention is designed to atttach to the crafts existing mooring cleat. An aerodynamic wing (A), consisting of a frame (1-10) which will be buoyant in water with a light weight sailing sheet providing lift while a mainsail provides a limited amount of tow. When not in use the sail is designed to be folded or rolled to take up the minimum amount of storage. Two control lines (15,16) and one luff line (14) are the only lines required. The application is design to be used by power/sports boats, reinforced inflatable boats, fishing boats, small sports cruisers, life rafts and lifeboats. <Figure 4> |
