Single or multilayered, biaxially oriented, white polyester foil (I) comprises: barium sulfate (5-25 wt.%); and titanium dioxide (at least 1 wt.%). An independent claim is included for the preparation of (I) comprising melting a mono layer and/or a single layer of the multilayered foil by a flat nozzle (co)extruder; extracting the obtained foil for solidification on one or more rollers; subsequently biaxially stretching the foil; and thermofixing the biaxially stretched foil.
