A hybrid drive unit for a vehicle comprises a main power source, an output shaft, generator, battery, a motor driven by electricity for the battery and/or generator and a gear. A reducing section lowers the motor output if a gear is switched, a section (S150) determines whether battery charging is permitted and a second reducing section (S156) diminishes power production by the generator if it is determined that battery charging is not permitted. |
