Tamper proof card reader

The reader (1) has a contacting unit (2) provided for a card that is inserted through a card insertion opening, and a conductor path element (8) bent against the action of an elastic restoring force and comprising two exposed electrical contacts (9a, 9b) provided on a mounting side (7) of the reader. The bendable conductor path element is bent between two exposed contacts until the two exposed contacts abut each other against the action of the elastic restoring force in the electrically conducting fashion. An independent claim is also included for a conductor path foil blank comprising a fine-meshed conductor path structure.
