A rotary knob 1 adapted to be rotatably mounted in an aperture 6 in a wall 2, comprises a body portion having a cavity 7 and a projecting cylindrical sleeve 5 to engage the aperture, and a spring wire clip 8 comprising a part 22 which lies in the cavity and engages behind projections 15, 16 on the wall thereof, and two limbs 9, 10 which extend through openings 20, 21 in the wall of the sleeve to engage behind the edge of the aperture in the wall when the knob is mounted thereon. As shown, in which the knob 1 may be used to operate a shaft 32 of a temperature control device on a smoothing iron, the free ends of the spring project outwardly of the collar to snap engage shoulders 13, 14 of the aperture 6. |
