An abrasion detecting apparatus of air break lining is provided to prevent the operation error since the detection sensor is not influenced by the foreign material and to be used permanently. An abrasion detecting apparatus of air break lining comprises as follows. A piston connected to a brake shoe by a piston rod(12c) is equipped within the cylinder body(12a). The air pathway is connected through the outside of both sides piston . In a return cylinder, the air pathway is connected to a secondary air tank through the solenoid valve(10) opened in the brake release. A pressure sensor is mounted at one side of piston . The air pathway(12ba) connected to the pressure sensor is formed in the piston . The pressure sensor is connected to the warning lamp(14) installed at the indoor crush pad.
