An organometallic complex, and a light emitting device containing the organometallic complex are provided to obtain the light emitting device having the sharp emission spectrum and to improve luminous efficiency. An organometallic complex is represented by the formula 6, 7, 12 or 13, wherein R3 to R6 are H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, a haloalkyl group, an aryl group, a dialkylamino group, or a diarylamino group; M is a center metal and is an element of the group 9 or 10; R7 and R8 are a C1-C4 alkyl group; L is a mono-anionic ligand; and n is 2 if M is an element of the group 9 or 1 if M is an element of the group 10. |
