APPATATUS FOR DECECTING A CARD AND METHOD THEREOF

A card detecting apparatus is presented to detect insertion and withdrawal state of a card accurately, by using terminals implemented in the card without an additional device to detect the card. According to a card detecting apparatus, a card(200) comprises a card detection terminal. A card detection part generates a detection signal to judge insertion of the card using connection time difference of the card detection terminal. A control part judges the insertion of the card by analyzing a detection signal generated in the card detection part and then outputs insertion information of the card according to the judgment result. A data processing part writes information in the card or reads the written information in correspondence to the insertion information of the card outputted from the control part.
