APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INTERLEAVING/DE-INTERLEAVING CHANNEL IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for interleaving and deinterleaving a channel in a mobile communication system are provided to improve reliability of an LDPC code by controlling to perform channel interleaving in consideration of non-uniform reliability characteristic. An encoder(311) using an LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code and a channel interleaver(313) are included in mobile communications systems. When the channel encoded code bits are inputted in a demultiplexer, bit streams for each position are outputted by classifying the inputted code bits to be outputted according to a corresponding position when the inputted code bits corresponds to a modulation symbol. The inputted bit streams are outputted in the channel interleaver by channel-interleaving the inputted bit streams. Respective channel-interleaved bit streams are modulated to the modulation symbol in a mapper.
