<p>A container packing structure comprises (wt.%): a crystalline phase containing xonotlite crystallites (55-97); tobermorite crystallites (3-45); and at least one intermediate phase (up to 15). An independent claim is included for fabricating a packing structure involving a) calcining limestone blocks at a temperature of at least 850[deg]C for at least one hour, such that at least 9 wt.% of the blocks have dimensions of 1-15 mm, where the limestone has a purity of at least 92 wt.% and an open porosity of 0-25%, to obtain quicklime particles; b) mixing the particles, in aqueous medium with silica and optionally with other compounds, to obtain a slurry; c) subjecting the slurry to hydrothermal synthesis at a temperature of 170-300[deg]C, to obtain a ceramic mass; and d) drying the ceramic mass at 300-450[deg]C for a period of 40-200 hours.</p> |
