<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antiviral agent comprising a red bean leachate as active ingredient, and to provide a method for preparing the active ingredient. <P>SOLUTION: The antiviral agent comprises, as the active ingredient, the leachate obtained by soaking raw red beans in water or a saline solution overnight (10-30 h).
