A constructional element e.g. a floor or wall comprises a main base plate 1 (Fig. 4) to which are attached perpendicularly thereto small plates 2, 3 and 4 which interengage e.g. by slots to form the honeycomb effect (Fig. 1) the profile of the top surface being rows of ribs and channels and a ribbed cover 8 fits over the unit. The channels defined by the cover being used for casting concrete. The holes of the honeycomb may be square, rectangular or hexagonal. The channels may be dovetail in cross section. The concrete may contain reinforcement, the main plate may be composite cardboard plaster material, the small plates and the cover may be of cardboard.
