<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with favorable display qualities both in a transmissive region and a reflective region. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 50 includes a liquid crystal held between a pair of substrates 110, 210 and has a transmissive region 62 and a reflective region 64. One substrate 110 of the pair of substrates 110, 210 has a pixel electrode 182 for transmissive display and a common electrode 178 for transmissive display provided in the transmissive region 62, a pixel electrode 190 for reflective display provided in the reflective region 64, a switching element 132 for transmissive display and a switching element 138 for reflective display, and a holding capacitor 186 for transmissive display and a holding capacitor 144 for reflective display.
