PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and quickly change a travel index during traveling, to be preferred by convenience and judgement of a user, in a navigation system. SOLUTION: This navigation system is provided with: an input operation part for inputting a destination, and for selecting the respective travel indexes of a distance, a time and a charge; a control part for searching a route; a display part for displaying the route; a position detecting part for detecting a current position; and an information storage part for storing route search information. The control part calculates two or more of the travel indexes from a branch point to the destination in each branch route (S6), in the case of advancing each branch route other than the route along the current route, when own vehicle approaches the branch point (S5), and displays all the travel indexes of the branch routes having the excellent travel index (S8), when at least one of the travel indexes is more excellent than the same kinds of travel indexes in the case of advancing the route along the current route (YES in S7).
