PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that can display a video of a program and a map while switching between them in appropriate timing. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a map display processing section 11 for displaying a map; a video/audio analysis reproduction section 3 for reproducing video and audio of a program; a processing priority control section 15 for making control so that a priority of processing in the video/audio analysis reproduction section 3 is higher than any processing in the map display processing section 11; and a display control section 16 for producing a display screen image by combining outputs of a moving image plane 17 for moving image display, and a map plane and a moving image plane that are a depicting plane other than the moving image plane 17, with output of a map plane. The map display processing section 11 depicts a map on the map plane, and the video/audio analysis reproduction section 3 continues to reproduce a video of a program and depict it on the moving image plane 17 even in the progression of displaying a map by the map display processing section 11.
