PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system for a rail vehicle capable of constructing a network which has high redundancy and excellent maintainability. SOLUTION: The transmission system for the train vehicle comprises a transmission device 1 having a plurality of transmission ports to transmit data received from one of the ports to a necessary transmission port on the basis of a prescribed instruction, a transmission path 3 for connecting transmission devices, and an electric device 2 with an automatic address setting function connected to the transmission device to exchange data with the transmission device, wherein the transmission device temporarily stops data exchange with other transmission devices during setting an address to the electric device to create a state that only an electric device connected to a self-transmission device and to the transmission device is connected to the network so as to make the transmission device function as a master of automatic address setting.
