PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level gauge device that shows liquid level with the usage of reflection of light and showing an accurate liquid level, even if it is used for a long time. SOLUTION: In the liquid level gauge device that shows the height of a liquid surface of the liquid stored in a water storage tank 10, a gauge plate 8 comprising a front plate 1, a rear plate 2, and an air layer 4 intervene between the front plate 1 and the rear plate 2 is fixed in the water storage tank 10, and the front plate 1 is made to face an effective visible area 11 provided in the water storage tank 10, and by having the light from the effective visible area totally-reflected in a boundary between the front plate 1 and the air layer 4, when the gauge plate 8 is immersed in the liquid; and thereby, only the front plate 1 can be seen from the effective visible area 11 under the liquid surface due to the effect of the light, and the rear plate 2 can be seen through the front plate 1 above the liquid surface.
