PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having high deodorizing-sterilizing performance. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator 100 comprising a box body 101 composed of a heat insulating material and forming storage chambers 102 therein, doors 107 attached openably/closably to an opening portion of the box body 101, a cooling means 115 for cooling the air to generate cold air, and a discharge duct for the storage chamber 102 (cold air circulating passage) 129a for circulating the cold air between the storage chamber 102 and the cooling means 115, the cold air circulating passage includes a sterilizing device 200 having a carrier 201 for carrying a photocatalyst, and an irradiation means 202 for irradiating the carrier 201 with exciting light for exciting the photocatalyst.
