PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction transmission belt wherein a decomposed product of an organic peroxide after reaction is free from blooming and has an excellent external appearance and noise generation during normal travel is prevented by lowering a friction coefficient on a belt surface. SOLUTION: A V-ribbed belt 1 consists of an adhesion layer 3 with a core wire 2 buried along a belt longitudinal direction, a compressed layer 4 provided at a surface of this adhesion layer 3 and an extension layer 5 consisting of a cover canvas for covering another surface of the adhesion layer 3. In a friction transmission surface as a surface layer of the compression layer 4, at least the friction transmission surface is composed of a rubber component containing 1-10 pts.wt. organic peroxide composed of dialkyl peroxide, 1-10 pts.wt. polyethylene glycol to 100 pts.wt. ethylene-α-olefin elastomer and blended with carbon black.
