PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp protective cover that can be produced easily and prevented from being left unremoved after the lamp is attached. SOLUTION: The lamp protective cover includes: a protective member 1 covering the arc tube 3a of the lamp 3 and exposing the terminal portion 3b of the lamp 3 to the outside; and hold members 2 attached to the protective member 1 and covering the terminal portion 3b of the lamp 3. The protective member 1 is formed by folding a flat plate of corrugated board paper in two. The protective member 1 is freely opened or closed between a closed position of holding the lamp 3 by applying a predetermined force in the direction of clamping the lamp 3 and an opening position of separating the protective member 1 from the lamp by removing the predetermined force. The hold members 2 are configured such that both edges of sheets of adhesive paper are affixed to both edges of the protective member 1, which edges are opposite the folded portion of the protective member 1.
