A sliding member is provided to improve a bearing member with respect to sliding characteristic of the bearing member by forming a running layer on a sliding layer of the sliding member. A sliding member includes a supporting body, a sliding layer arranged on the supporting body and a running layer arranged on the sliding layer. The sliding layer is formed by a supporting structure including spaces buried with a sliding material. The sliding layer and the running layer form a sliding face which includes a vertically extended part in a rotating direction of a structural member. The spaces are formed in the direction of the vertically extended part of the sliding layer. |
