<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized photovoltaic device and a dye-sensitized solar cell having high absorbency index, capable of increasing absorption on the long wave length side, and having high photoelectric conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized photovoltaic device and the dye-sensitized solar cell have a semiconductor layer which carries a compound represented by formula (1) between counter electrodes as a sensitizing dye molecule and an electrolyte layer. In formula (1), D<SB>1</SB>, D<SB>2</SB>, and D<SB>3</SB>independently represent an atom group having an electron donor or an electron-donating group and they may be the same or different; L<SB>1</SB>, L<SB>2</SB>, L<SB>3</SB>, and L<SB>4</SB>independently represent -(CH=CH)<SB>m</SB>- and they may be the same or different; n represents 0 or 1; and m represents 1 or 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
