<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape for protecting aluminum electrolytic capacitor lead electrode used in a wet or dry aluminum electrolytic capacitor, which tape simply protects an insulating separator from an injury due to protrusion, such as burrs of a lead electrode, and will not cause reduction in the capacitance. <P>SOLUTION: In the tape for protecting the aluminum electrolytic capacitor lead electrode is composed of a support base material and an adhesive layer, the support base material is made of a paper-based material.
